COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH
Update on Community Speedwatch May 2019
Community Speedwatch (CSW) is a partnership initiative with Dorset Police aimed at raising speed awareness and provides an opportunity to educate drivers to keep to the speed limit. The percentage of speeding vehicles checked since CSW started in 2013 has fallen from 26 to around 10 and appears to be on course to reduce further.
Dorset Police No Excuse Team officers have visited Holwell to support the CSW team and issued tickets for various offences.
TruCam, a relatively new live camera, was trialled in Holwell and proved very successful in enforcing the speed limit with tickets issued to those exceeding it.
Further new technology is to be trialled shortly, reinforcing the message that Holwell will not tolerate excess speeding.
